I had several 800's from '87 thru to '98 and loved them all and wish I had room as I'd love a coupe. In fact I've still got the KV6 engine technical manual that under protest I managed to get a dealer to supply.
On my V6 I changed cambelts once as a service and then again for hgf failure, the only 'special tool' i used was to lock the rear camwheels (No 7 on Sealey sheet) and a made up a couple using some upvc facia cladding I happened to have left over. It was easy to fettle and with care was strong enough to stop movement. I only chucked them last week! I also found working on the rear bank a real stretch and remember thinking at the time would it have been as easier all round to have whipped the engine out. Hope you get sorted. Stop press: If it helps I've just checked tech manual re head bolts and it states: *Thoroughly clean head bolts and wipe dry. *Lightly lubricate threads and beneath heads of bolts with engine oil. Let me know if I can help further with ref to manual.
