Morning all - from a soggy and cold North Yorkshire.
Sat here waiting for delivery of my new telly. I've only had the old one for around 10 years, but it looks like one of the valves has failed, as it's not accessing signals across the ether
My credit card pocket is hurting.

Did it play the National Anthem at midnight

You can actually purchase a colour TV now as Black And White are discontinued and they have more than 4 channels

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

Sadly, new televisions do not improve the quality of the programmes.

I looked for a steam powered one to keep the electricity bill down, but they don't seem to make them any more - what's the world coming to?

We are appealing to the government for assistance, as like the catering and hospitality industry ,the coach industry is on it’s knees. If no assistance is forthcoming then the hospitality and transport industries will cease to exist by the time the country is in control of Covid. The honk is basically coach companies getting together and going through the local city in convoy honking their horns to bring the plight of the transport industry to the forefront.
A couple of my relatives own their own coaching company started in 1973 in the Midlands and because of the Covid pandemic they lost thousands of bookings. In June they safeguarded the future by securing £800,000 from the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme from Lloyds Bank. The business is still up and running, in fact my younger brother and his wife, have just returned from one of their coach tours of Germany and Poland .... four nights in Kraków very nice city. Stops in Frankfurt Leipzig Dresden and Bonn. Visits to Schindler‘a Factory and Auschwitz-Birkenau... very moving.

Great idea of honking to raise awareness of the plight of the industry, thank you Richard for your support.

Evening all, I'm with you Bob, Just opened one meself but I think it will turn into 3 or 4
All this upcoming mobile phone verification malarkey when buying online is doing my head in!!!

My mobile phone (which I rarely use) battery has decided to go belly up and shortly Paypal will need to send you a verification code to complete the sale when you buy online.

I've finally found a battery for my smart phone on the Chinese site alibaba £13 for two, I only want one but they only sell them in pairs so hopefully it will arrive before the verification deadline!
