Bit of electronic gear to trace the pipe in your garden to install a stopcock. Freeze the pipe. Cut and fit a stopcock.-. Gives you time to get better access to cut off flat pipe and make a new connection into your house.

Stopcock----Naughty word. Incredible. Got round it by making it ONE word. Lol.

Yeah it would have been good that way but my house insurance (RIAS) doesn't cover pipework repairs , I wonder if any other insurance companies don't cover pipework repairs? You'd better check. I would have gladly had it done that way but I don't have the dosh to rip up the decking area & driveway for that.

Glad you're getting the leak sorted Ian, that must have been a horrible experience !

Hope the tests come back negative for you Richard. Not something you need at this time I'm sure.

On a positive note.............It's not raining this morning

Cheers Jeff Nowt worse than water pouring into the house & you cant stop it, Trying to get hold of an emergency plumber immediately is near impossible, More mopping up today the insurance company says it'll make a big difference to the claim if the cushion floor is stuck down I said no it's not stuck down it's bleedy floating Insurance assessor is due today & I pity him if he/she tries to give my missus the runaround

Thankfully it’s a chest infection and nothing else, they kicked her out at 10pm yesterday with orders to rest for a week.
Andy, please pass on our best wishes to Deb for a speedy recovery from the chest infection and she has plenty of rest and takes things easy.

Missus is upset they're ripping the kitchen units out & chasing the plaster off the walls as it's sodden

The water has got into the cavity under the living room & that will need pumping out. I've been round to the neighbours to tell them about the water needs turning off for a while, The trouble is the stopc0ck on the lead inlet pipe is only 2" above the concrete floor & they're having trouble digging it out, The decking outside might have to be torn up yet to get at the lead pipework under the back garden, Deep joy.
A miserable experience to have to go through.

If your not happy with the loss adjuster, make a complaint and ask for him to be replaced. We had to do this after a bush fire burnt the house down. The loss adjuster visited and accused us of starting the fire. He was a ghastly man with pointed vampire back teeth and sinister looking eyes. Thankfully the insurance company apologised and had him replaced. They tried to say we were under insured but we would not have it. You don’t have to agree with everything they say

Morning Phil, Blimey! He sounded like a nightmare, I took a few pics of the water pouring in for insurance purposes. Yes Colin said the same thing. Oh! for heavens sake! Just had a phone call & the assessor cant come out today!

The kitchen is a bomb site & they said not to do anything else until they've been. I need it clearing out to dry out
