Default Side Glass scratch remover

My drivers side window is getting a lot of light scratch marks - 2 questions

1. What in the door frame/card is causing this ?

and

2.Can anyone recommend a repair kit ?

1. Dust and grit in the door screen wiper/seal.
2. Replace with a good used one. Polishing out is virtually impossible and a PITA!

When washing the car (hopefully regularly) clean the Cra* out of the window wiper/seal on the door.

Because it's such a snug fit, any sand or dirt gets trapped in the seal causing the scratches. When mine got bad, I just replaced it. Every now and then, I run a flat blade wrapped in cloth inside the window between the glass and rubber along the bottom. You'd be surprised at the muck.

See what you mean - just done it - muck and some white grain like material.

The hard part is finding a good used one, I did manage to find an untouched one last year and asked the guy to save it for me until next day when I could get the glass out, you guessed it, they trashed the shell and smashed the glass
Still looking.

Seems strange that specialised polishing compounds won't touch a scratch but a small bit of grit can do untold damage!!!

You can polish it out but it tends to distort the glass slightly, which is fine to see through but it stands out a mile from the outside
