When I had a failure with a front strut, I managed to limped the car about a mile to the nearest tyre centre. I got hold of a new damper strut and the top mount but no bump stop washers. So I said to the receptionist that they would have to re-use any missing bits.

Yeah, you've guessed it the tyre fitter (I'm being kind here) threw the needed transfer bits away and fitted the new damper without any....sigh! I managed to find one of the bump stop washers in their rubbish dumpster and took it to a local engineering company in Baldock.

They did a couple of sets for me at the correct thickness. However, the original washer is cupped and whilst they could do that the cost of 4 cupped washers as against straight meant I went for straight.

I think Bilstein do them as part of a fully dressed damper though I don't know if they will supply the washer as a separate item. The v8 site might have more up-to-date info.

Thanks for the info will have a look at the V8 site for any possible info.

Probably like yourself I'll end up using a suitable washer substitute.

Thanks Arctic, never thought about ebay this time.

As you suggest though I'll see if Mickeyboy can help.
