Smile Soundbar.

Hello, I have a Sony Smart Android tv with the speakers at the rear of the tv. My wife is concerned about the noise upsetting the man next door. If I fit a soundbar will it cancel the rear speakers and just come from the front?. Thanks, John.

I have a soundbar John & it's great, but it can be a lot louder & bassier than normal speakers

The old boy next door and I are both 72, I wear headphones so I am all right with the sound, but my wife is always aware of the noise. Does the sounbar cancel the rear speakers?. Thanks, John.

The soundbar cancels all tv speakers John, so you could put it anywhere in the room & the sound comes from there

I’ve wanted a sound bar for a while. The thinner tv’s have such tiny speakers. I’ve come close to buying one a few times but worried about lip sync. Can it be adjusted or does it just work? ( appollogies for the hijack )

I bought a soundbar from Richer sounds. Not too bassy and it points forward so less of a problem for the neighbours.

I have just purchased a Mission Bluetooth speaker, which I can place anywhere and run from my phone etc. It can also be used as a sound bar, and as the sound is so good, it doesnt have to be used at high volume. Special offer at Richer sounds right now and worth a listen.

It wont cancel the speakers but of course you can just turn the tv speakers down to zero and just have the sound coming from the bar.

If you use an optical connection (Avoid using the ARC connection via hdmi if possible, it can cause lots of odd seemingly unrelated issues) you are unlikely to suffer any lip sync issues. It also has the added bonus of simply playing whatever is on screen be it normal tv, Bluray or onboard apps.

I may be slightly biased but good idea dependant on budget the Hk SB20 is a good choice and certainly worth a listen.
