Auto Box Oil Change
A thought has come to mind and I want to get comments from members.
Auto gearbox oil change is a pain to do properly and needs to be done every 4 years or so many miles. As a alternative. IF I was to drain the first lot of oil out and replace up to the level hole and thats it every year with my annual service do you think that will be OK? OR do you think it would be a more harmful practice? I know it's not a full oil change but in my mind the box will get fresh oil of sorts every year as appose to 4 years. What do members think?

Certainly changing the oil more regularly won’t do any harm, but it’s not draining the whole system.. The oil needs to be a certain temperature first, then drained, partially refilled to flush out the oil cooler, then drained and refilled and run up to temperature again. Take into consideration the cost of the correct spec oil. It’s not cheap, the last time 5l bottles.
