Been out and picked up anti lodger (flea) treatments for the girls. Don't think they've ever had any but still do them every couple of months or so just in case. Had to do Pops first coz if she suspects there's something going on she disappears behind the sofa or under the recliner.

Morning all,

Today we are driving to London in prep for the op tomorrow. It’s been a busy frantic few days, firstly getting authorisation from the insurance company to pay for the operation, having a pre-op PCR Covid test for the hospital which was negative. It’s a relief the insurers will pay for everything and it’s one less thing to worry about.

Then yesterday I received 2 emails from the hospital.

The first email at 1:48pm said the operation had been cancelled due to an “administrative error” and they did not know when it was to be rescheduled…..a reprieve!

The second email at 2:03pm “Please attend for admission at 08:30 and be prepared to be seen by the anaesthetist who may or may not decide to order more tests or delay your operation by a few days”…..horrors!

A third email was from the hospital admin was sent a few days ago, asking me to attend the hospital for 7 a.m tomorrow to meet the surgeons, the op is scheduled for 1:45 pm.

The email said I am instructed to shower tonight and again 2 hours before admission. I have been asked to wipe myself down with large antiseptic wipes (provided) after each shower, allowing everything to evaporate!

We will go in tomorrow at 7 a.m and hope everything goes off okay.
Thank you for your patience in reading about my tribulations.

What is everyone up to?

Morning Jeff, I hope the laser of the eyes sorts everything out for you and doesn’t cause too much inconvenience. It’s unusual to for you not to be in shorts, a sign of cooler days approaching.

Morning all, clear skies & sunshine again this morning,Much cooler & lots of condensation too, Looks like we'll need some shillings for the meter next week as colder weather arrives.

Goods luck with the surgery Phil , Must be a pain in the rear getting conflicting emails from the hospital, I'm still waiting for two call backs from the DVT dept after the letter saying not to attend on the 21st Sept as it's a telephone consultation then getting a phone call saying where are you! They're really busy staff there & run off their feet so I'm not really bothered about it.

Morning all,

Nice sunny start to the day but only 7c out there.

I might however risk the shorts again

We have ordered a slow cooker from Amazon that is due to arrive today.

Should be good for pre preparing all those casseroles and soups for the cooler months to come.

Roast Chicken for tonights dinner. The rest of the day will be mainly taken up by watching the BTCC from Silverstone

Nice one Jeff, You cant beat a slow cooker for casseroles, soups etc.

I've been in the greenhouse to pick some aubergines, I fancy a go at making a Moussaka but looking in the cupboard I need a couple more ingredients.

Cheers Ian,

I've always done them in a casserole dish in the oven. Using a slow cooker means I can put it on and go out to work safe in the knowledge it will be ready on my return

Leo has just woken on hearing that Roast Chicken will be on offer later
