Bit of advice, going back to my HGV Days, try and find out from authorities, what constitutes a " Convoy ", cause I think 15+ cars would qualify.
Not trying to put a damper on things, it might be considered " Illegal ", you might have to break into partys of four or five.
Ian, you being the named Organiser of the Trip, you would be responsible.

Make sure what constitutes a "Convoy".
Hi Peter
Like yourself I have driven many of thousands of miles across Europe (athough some years ago now) and from experience I have learnt that unless you have dedicated lead and chase vehicles displaying warning lights it is pretty much impossible to keep a group together and to that end there will be at least 3 prearranged stops on our journey along the E40 for our party to regroup and ensure all is well with everyone.
The only place that I plan to "convoy" the vehicles is when we visit Arnhem and I am already in contact with Arnhem city hall to facilitate this.
Thanks so much for your concern however all is in hand mate.

Cheers Ian

Hi Ian,
Just was`nt aware you had Knowledge of the Continental Laws.
Friends come unstook going to LeMans, recieved hefty fine.
Knowing Brexit is looming, will that give them an excuse to pull English transport?

Been zooming around various web pages for insurance/Recovery quotes ( confident eh ) , and as I didn't commit , I now keep getting odd emails offering me 10-15% off the quote .. So don't leap straight in , let them stew a bit and see if you get a bit off the prices as we have got few months !!

Or we get one personal recovery plan and just chuck that person in any sick car ..only joking !!

Guys

Whilst I can't make this trip I have been following.
For breakdown cover I have all our family cars covered with StartRescue, they have been very good when called upon and not too expensive .

Have a look here -> https://www.startrescue.co.uk/breakdown-cover/european <- with 4 day cover from £20.41

And no I don't have shares in the company, nor any other affiliations.

Hi Ian. Will the cost of entrance to the Classic Show be included in the cost of the whole jaunt?

Good morning David
To clarify a little bit
I am booking the Eurotunnel and the hotel on behalf of those taking part in this little trip in order to gain everyone a discount.
All other costs including insurances/food/fuel etc etc are the responsibility of the individual traveller to arrange and pay for.
I'm not a travel agent just an individual trying to help some mates have an enjoyable weekend together, in the same way that any regional secretary does.
That said I believe that entrance to the classic park for the best of British show is free to exhibitors.
Cheers Ian
