seat belt height
I am wondering what mechanism regulates the height at which the seat belt sits while 'at rest' in its B-pillar slot.
I have noticed that on mine the passenger side sits centrally (which is think is correct), but the drivers side sits at the bottom of the travel allowed by the moving bit in the B-pillar. See pics. I suspect they should both be at the mid-point when 'at rest' (which is how they sit on my other 75), but I can't see what mechanism regulates this. I recently had the divers side B-pillar trim off for another reason, and only noticed this when I put it back, and I can't honestly remember whether it was like this before that. I think it might have been. thanks Drivers side: Passenger side:

underneath the seat there is a thin steel wire and clevis pin that should be connected to the base of the seat. This wire is attached to the seat belt upper anchor and should move up and down as the seat moved fore and aft.
From the rear footwell have a little look under the drivers seat as someone may have disconnected it and forgot to reconnect. |

Anyway, I checked under the seat and it was clipped in place as it should be, but the cable itself was very slack. So I removed the B-pillar trim again to look at the top end of the cable where the seatbelt loops through its mount in the B-pillar, and found that the cable had come out of where the white cable outer is supposed to sit, which was why it was all floppy. I re-seated it, and it went back to being taut. Tested the seat moving forward and back, and yes the adjuster went up and down. Replaced the trim, so now all is well. Thank you all for your help.
