I've had manual 1.8 non-turbo and 2.0 V6 from new and I have to say I prefer the 1.8. The 2.0 had more power at high motorway speeds when the VIS motors cut in but lacks torque at low revs at low speed and was a real gas guzzler around town.

Oh I forgot are they as hard a ride compared to the 75
Many thanks
For longevity, and reliability, the diesel is better, and very nice to cruise in on the motorway, at 69.9 mph, better, much better at 85mph (obviously not in the UK!) the car is nicely geared to give a very comfortable but satisfying drive, I am not in to the 1.8 in either turbo or normally aspirated form, and the V6s are too underpowered and belt driven requiring expensive servicing, the thermostat housing is weak and will need regular replacement, the Vis motors fragile, all in all a poorly designed engine the leads to fragility, not for me.
