400k club eh, top work keeping that beauty going way beyond the moon and into the stratosphere, very glad I read all the posts, as for a minute there I thought you was going going gone, and we would’ve lost a very valuable member, but now I realise it’s just about milage I have no concerns that those numbers will keep rolling on Mike

Mike, I was blown away by the “ I am leaving.....” 400K is quite an achievement. I really enjoyed our chat at the last meet. Away from cars and not engines, what an interesting and fascinating life you have led

Enjoyed our chat over breakfast Phil - saw a programme about Giraffe Manor in Nairobi and thought of you. What a cracking place that is.

Congratulations Mike on such a mammoth mileage.
May I ask how you have achieved it? Taxi, business use or purely private? |

Thanks, it was both business and private - it was delivered new as a company car, and I bought it a couple of years later when I left the company. I was then, and still work as a field service engineer in the packaging industry doing around 35k miles a year back in the day, and not so many these days. Interestingly nothing lubricated by either the engine or geabox oil has been replaced, and the injectors, HP fuel pump and crank pulley are all original. |

Many thanks for that, Mike. My son in law would like to know how many in-tank fuel pumps has the car used, please. |

No problem - the ITP has been changed twice and the UBP once. To be fair the old UBP was working fine and changed as a precaution.
It now sits in the boot spare wheel well along with a cam and crank sensor for emergency back up. |
