If you’re wanting to do it as a kind of in car CCTV you’ll be greatly disappointed.
The parking mode hopefully will only be triggered in the event of a collision whilst the car is parked,!

I works in detection of movement in the field of vision via the lens, and/or it’s triggered by the sensitivity of the G sensor.
If it’s raining, and it’s 3am, any recorded footage wouldn’t show a clear enough image. I’ve tested this to catch next doors cat that was scratching its paws down my glass and bonnet last year

If your battery drops to 11.6 volts you NOT be able to start your car.---------------That way to the bus stop.

Yes I realise that so can the camera be powered from a separate USB battery when in parking mode?

I have read these posts does that mean then Steve that you are not using the parking mode on your camera as this camera is not permanently live wired.?

If it is permanently live wired, surely the USB battery wont be used until the car battery drops to an unsafe to start level? (the last time I got the flashing no start warning, my battery read 12.1v out of the car!)

It has been a few years since I bought mine, but at the time, people used the USB battery as the main power source, with it being charged whilst ignition was on (switched live). This gave the standby power solely from the USB battery, he amount of which was determined by the USB battery, which meant the car battery would be unaffected by the camera use.

Camera -> USB battery -> USB battery 12v charger -> switched live.

If you really are keen on having the camera run at all times then the best solution is to fit another 12 volt battery to your car. Maybe in the boot. Charge it from the alternator on your car but through a one-way diode so it can only discharge through your camera.

With luck this battery will not go flat as every time you use your car you will be charging it.---

I wasn't joking but I did say---IF YOU ARE REALLY SERIOUS.

If you were just toying with the idea then that is a different matter.

The mechanics of my suggestion are very simple. The cost however could be offputting for another battery.

Just trying to help with your problem so that you don't get stuck with a flat battery and a non functioning car as well as a non functioning alarm at the same time.---

PS.---This is my 10,000th post.-------Yippee
