Another vote for PCV. There's a few guides on here to change it - if you temporarily remove the PCV you can see if the smoke stops.
I bought a lovely 75 Tourer with blue smoke - PCV was clogged solid. Removed, replaced and all good

Thanks folks- took the car out for a good run today and the smoke stopped. We found the oil over filled- i've put a deposit down and will hopefully collect the car in the next few days after a new MOT has been put on it.
I'll do my own oil change and new PCV next week. Cheers. |

The car can take a few weeks to clear the smoke, don't discount it quickly!!

Blue smoke
As reply suggests first pull dipstick from engine wipe stick and then put stick back in engine and then take it out again this 2nd reading will be the true level. Ignore whatever the 1st reading shows it aint right.
