Make sure the seal is properly seated as well.

Its easier to fit the filter seal to the tank seal and then push the filter in.

There's more detail on fitting the filter element, its seals and the tank port seal here: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...ead.php?t=9108

Thanks, that’s what I did to leave it safe.
Red rubber grease helped.

A short update.

I have got the clip from dizzy Bizzy Lizzy.

I was hoping to fit today but it says , don’t fit when temperatures are freezing and I have other stuff on this weekend.

Update on this.

I have pushed the filter back together, twisted it until the two halves made a satisfying click/clunk and fitted the clip.

Filter back in.

Ring back on.

Top hose on.

Still doesn’t start.

Pump runs when ignition to P2 and runs when cranking.

I am going to check pressure next, that’s the schrader valve under the bonnet isn’t it?

Fuel pressure is about 3.5 bar on my gauge.

Going to try and check for spark next.

Not enjoying the sleet.

Well done, that's spot on. I await results of the spark test with interest.

I took the front rhs plug out.

Big fat spark when turning over.

Plug is a darker brown than I like.
