The Haynes book of lies says 1mm gap.

Plug is 1mm

Front three plugs all 1mm, all fire.


It is trying to fire, sometimes now.

Hmmm, maybe the RH bank plugs could do with cleaning too. It's a horrible job getting them out though.

Does it try to fire with the accelerator fully depressed?

Using a generic Autel code reader and telling the Autel that the car is a BMW put the little screen into diagnostic mode.

Still nothing.

Telling it, it is a freelancer v6 petrol(EMS2000) and it communicates, but no fault codes.

It also says both cam and crank position are detected.

No, sadly.

Foot to the floor has no effect.

Parking my sprinter front on and using jump leads, gets it turning faster. But no joy.

The Autel says no misfires detected.
