Default Those Chinese remedies..

Hi, anyone used those Chinese remedies?

I'm a bit embarrassed by this but I seem to have some kind of OCD. This takes form most prominantly in my job. For example, doing a service or repair, or even switching off and locking up the workshop is a bit of a repetitive exercise. I find myself repeating myself and doing the same thing sometimes dozens of times. Sometimes I feel like I'm going mad.
Anyway, clutching at straws and feeling very stupid I thought I'd give these Chinese things a go. I have been given rose flower buds that go in hot water and you drink it. That isn't very pleasant and some tablets that look like rabbit droppings.

Some people swear by these type remedies, and for some things they seem to work according to the patient,
all I would say is if it is "real" illness/disease such as Diabetes etc,
none of these Potions will work and can be dangerous, so just be careful out there,
and if it works for your aliment great, if not seek assistance from your GP.
Never stop taking a prescribed medication until discussion with your practitioner. (I know not relevant in this instance)

I agree. I don't think it is anything a doctor can help with so I'm not going to go and waste thier time. I find it all a bit embarrassing tbh. I thought I'd give them a go as I had nothing to loose.

The Doctor CAN help! This is a recognised condition and surprisingly common. The remedies include counselling and / or cognitive behaviour therapy which I understand to be quite effective in many cases.

Counselling?? I certainly don't want to make a fuss. What is cognitive behaviour therapy?

Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) describes a number of therapies that all have a similar approach to solving problems, which can range from sleeping difficulties or relationship problems, to drug and alcohol abuse or anxiety and depression. CBT works by changing people's attitudes and their behaviour. The therapies focus on the thoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes that we hold (our cognitive processes) and how this relates to the way we behave, as a way of dealing with emotional problems.
