Anything electrical is a potential fire hazard. Esp. if from a cheap source

Depends what they are on etc Tree, Wall.
I would never leave them on Unattended, as I have been to fires and seen results caused by this. |

Fairy lights, Christmas tree lights, and other kinds of decorative lights get used less often than your everyday lights, and they need more care: * Check the fuses are the right type - see the box for the maximum size of fuse you should use * If bulbs blow, replace them * Don’t leave fairy lights on when you go out or when you go to sleep * Don’t let the bulbs touch anything that can burn easily, like paper * Don’t overload sockets |

i have told my work place that they should be swiched off (as i am security ) but they say the lights are not a fire risk as they are low voltage. shame the company has not got any common sence.

LED lights are a bit safer as they don't get hot like normal bulbs.
If they say leave them on, let them, their bill and their problem if the place goes up in smoke! Providing you're all out safe and sound if the worst happens! |
