That's what I'm hoping. It did tend to coincide with when the car had warmed up.

Yep I know which part you mean now, they rarely fail but Ron has mentioned previously that if the connector is dirty and making a bad contact then odd things can happen, get some contact cleaner and give the regulator conector and plug on the harness a good blasting
