Disaster! Dangling interior lights!
Spotted something waving at me in the rear view mirror this morning and to my horror it wasn't a giant spider, it was something altogether more ominous. The entire rear interior cabin light cluster, hanging by its electrical cable had somehow dropped through the oval hole in the headlining. The lights are working but I can't fathom how to get the thing to stay put as there don't appear to be any clips holding it in above the rim of the hole in the ceiling. So if I push it into the ceiling hole it just drops straight back down again into my hand. I felt all the way around the ceiling hole rim and can't feel anything there either that would hold it in place.
What do I do now???? |

THere's two metal spring clips on one side, and on the other side there SHOULD be a double set of plastic 'tangs' that help hold the light in place. These it would seem often snap/break off, although if you haven't touched it, not sure what would have caused breakage.

Common problem where the two rear plastic lugs fail. not a difficult fix if you have a hot glue gun and a couple of pieces of plastic you can cut to shape. there are a couple of points on the cluster where you can attach new lugs with the glue gun.

Very recently put a couple tiny pieces of wood ( Cut off a clothes peg ) in mine and held with two very small screws. Locked really well into place now.---

Thanks - I can't see any lugs coming off my lamp cluster so I fear they may have snapped and I'll need to buy another. Actually I can't see a spring either that would clamp it to the front. Anyone know where good quality light clusters can be found as there are none on Ebay and Rimmers have run out!

Springs are only on one side. Adapt the other side like I did . Not hard to do. If you get one from a breakers it probably wont last long as time seems to kill them.--- |

I have the same problem. I am planning on removing the fitting and using gorilla glue with some spare pieces of plastic. I know it's a bodge but worth a try.
