Hi Chris.
If its a manual then stick it in reverse, get into the rear of the car foot either side of the seats, lean through the centre of the seats and pull up hard, be careful as you do not want a nose bleed

IF Auto same as above stick in neutral press i the button and pull upwards

Maybe 2 1/2 yrs later but thanks Steve. As usual your advice was spot on.
Sat in the driver's seat then passenger seat and couldn't shift it.
Followed your back seat suggestion and off it popped - and not even a nose bleed.

The removal of dentures beforehand is also highly recommended. ...

Tourer method.

Fold rear backrest down.
Open the tailgate.
Place an air bed by rear bumper.
Neel on backrest.
Pull until you end up on the airbed with the gear knob .

I have often seen thanks given but don't know how to do it.
It has disappeared following a software upgrade, apparently it is not compatible with the new forum software.
