Default Sad days

I have 2002 2.5 v6 Connie in zircon silver and 79000 on the clock . The last time I drove it it boiled dry nearly serious overheating. On investigation the thermostat housing had leaked causing me to loose all the water . I have now wrecked the car I have had a pressure test done and it is a hgf and unfortunately not cost effective to repair The car was also in 2016 calendar . So the question is do I pass on to a member at scrap price or break her for parts as I do not have the money to get her back on the road
What a dilemma I have

Get a quote to see where you stand. Then ask if anyone fancies taking it on.
Much more can be made by breaking it if you have the room.
But, it takes time and trouble, 90% of callers are idiots, of the rest half won't turn up, or claim the part was lost in the post.
You also see it coming to pieces before your eyes, and still have to get rid of whats left.
If you sell the wheels that can be a big problem unless you have access for a Hiab.

Is there money in breaking a 75 these days?
If the car was good enough to go in the callendar, and only needs an engine (plus belt kit and maybe clutch?), it will be worth fixing for someone.

Or someone will say they are fixing it and break it maybe.

Broke mine up after failing to sell it for peanuts and I did make more money back
What didn’t sell on eBay ended up at the tip

It would be a shame to break a calendar car, it must be a nice one.

Shame you are so far away otherwise I'd be happy to take it on and put it back on the road (though the wife would object to a fifth 75). Manual or auto?

Hi Nigel,
Seems a shame to scrap a nice car.
If you can source an engine, I would be willing to give you a hand doing a transplant?

Regards
Chris
