CDTi Lumpy at Idle
Hello to the technical minded. My 2001 CDTi manual as recently started to feel and be lumpy when sitting at idle (625 rpm approximately 620-640). Other than that the car runs fine, usual performance, economy, and mechanical sounds.
Is there anyone here had a similar occurrence, did it go away, what was it and if fixed what was fixed. Regards Steve |

Have a look at all the hoses (including the vacuum ones) any leaks will have this effect.

EGR, injector performance, ECM, wiring loom, it could be any or all or none of these
There is a canny tool for checking this kind of thing, can't remember what it is though Brian |

Thanks for the replies, I will get some injector cleaner, check the hoses etc. If there is no improvement maybe a T4 session is indeed needed.

Ive had the same sort of issue with my diesel since i bought it but the car runs fine.
Ive seen similar posts from other members with the same idke issue. Mine idles at the correct revs but just feels slightly rough at idle. Only post ive seen that appeared to fix their issue was replacing the injectors. The other irritating issue is somtimes when the steering is on full lock at idle, the car can stall, somthing to do with the power steering . Dosnt happen all the time though. |

Thanks for the mention Trikey,
If Mr bountyfull fancies a trip to Fareham, I am sure we can have a look at what the problem is, see if we can sort it (I keep most spares that we could need) Chris
