Air Bag Problem
Usual problem on here, Air Bag light on, I have checked all the plugs under the seats, disconnect and connect again, used a little contact cleaner, funny thing is the light goes out for a fraction of a second and then comes back on again, any ideas anyone. Rev |

Do you know it's definitely one of the air bags that connect under the front seats? Purchase a 2.2 ohm resister off ebay, disconnect each airbag in turn and connect resistor in place of airbag, when light stays off you've found the dodgy bag/connector... unless fault is in wiring from control module to connector, but not that likely.

Don't forget the seat belt pre-tensioner wiring and connectors can also trigger the light.

Or a dead ECU, or a dead spring behind the steering wheel!

Hi Rev,
The fact that the light comes on, flashes off, then comes back on again means that the airbag module is working, but detecting a fault. If this is in a saloon, don't forget there are pretensioners in the rear belts as well as the front belts. Hope this helps Chris

They are (I believe) only the same as the front one's. Was simply mentioning them as the main culprits are the front seats, but nobody mentioned these. May be worth checking if you have had the back seat up/folded etc.
Probably best to read the codes, then go from there to find the fault rather than guessing. Regards Chris
