And also look at the brackets for the rear drop links. They are not in the same place as the original ones. Quite simply a load of c&#@ to put it mildly. And to cap it all. One of the well known ex Rover dealers still appears to be selling them. You know who you are. Not Matt I might add.

If you compare an original arm with the "copy" you will see that the originals have more substantial welds all over. There are also welds missing on the "copy" arms compared to the originals, between upper and lower skins. Add that to the alignment problems and I just wouldn't fit them. Just my opinion!

The drop link brackets and drain holes etc, are all in the same place as the originals, it is the pressings themselves which are out of line by 10mm, hence the need to trim 5mm from the lower spring isolator diameter
The spot welds numbering nine in total, are at the vertical point adjacent to the outboard fixing. I cannot wait to see the replacements, which I'm assured are not from the same Indian supplier Brian |

Hi Brian. You say that the dlb are in the same place on the arms. From what I can see from the pictures on Artics page, the brackets are to far towards the one end? They look to me to be more central on Artics photo’s. Are my eyes playing me up. No quips about missing speed signs please.

I could be completely wrong and most likely am, but that was what I was looking at, they seem to be welded in a different position, of cause the view of the photo could be playing a trick on the eyes, I have not had an arm in front of me, Indian or Chinese, but since Brian pointed out quite a long time ago about the Indian arms I have not added any to my stock pile of parts. I too am waiting on these new ones to come to the front, in the mean time I have put out a call for some decent original ones that I can have replenished, hopefully the call will bare fruit.

I thought the non-Indian replacements had all been sold Brian. |

Which one did you buy out of interest? I just bought the so called 'OEM MG/Rover' part from Rimmer bros. It looks much like the previous pictured (Simons?) part. It states 'Made in CN', has a MGRover hologram sticker & has a laser etched date of 09-2019 (pretty fresh, huh!) It has 16 spot welds on the face that the spring sits. I'm hoping that 'offside' and Right hand side' mean the same thing! Am about to find out. Gotta go and plusgas now. Catch up later. -a |

There is a new supplier in the wings.......the test pieces have been fitted to one of the Hinckley test cars for evaluation, however I've not seen them yet.
The expected arrival of the main stocks of the new parts will be early in the New Year. In terms of the Indian arms, the fixing points for the spring isolator and the ARB drop link are in the correct place, however the oval hole is in the wrong place, as well as the dish the spring sits in. All of the relevant mounting dimensions are identical to the original arms, I mocked up the arms and subframe with rods inserted into the ARB brackets to allow accurate measurements to be taken with the arms resting in a fixed position relative to the subframe. These were triangulated from the mounting holes in the subframe, and a ZT subframe was deliberately chosen so as not to introduce any error from settled metalastic bushes on the 75 variant. Brian |
