center console lighter

Hello everyone. I would like to know if there is any way to remove the cigarette lighter only from the center console to change it.

I think the ashtray/lighter/cupholder all has to come out as a unit and to do that the console needs some disassembly.

Yes it can be removed, but I believe the lighter and the slider unit it sits in were supplied as a single piece. I replaced my lighter with a usb charger/volt meter, and I had to destroy the lighter to do so. Break the plastic ring first, then bend/crush the lighter until it is free. To avoid visible damage I attacked it from the rear with pliers and a flat blade screwdriver.
