before Simon goes ahaed with the seat side the cost with postage is likely to be around £70 - is anybody up for it ?

Simons comments below:

Hi Rob

" I can do a piece that size, but

a) the cost would be nearly the same as a full kit, due to the amount of resin used.

b) the cost of delivery would be almost double. I would have to send it parcel post not letter post. Also if it did get damaged in the post I couldn't replace it free of charge."

Hello Rob,

I would be, a most refined piece, expensive yes, but for connoisseurs a most satisfying addition. I've also emailed Simon to let him know of my interest, as he's preparing a Walnut kit for me to effect the complete change over from Light Oak.

Far to expensive for two panels that are not that much bigger than the sun visor panels (measure them yourself). Im interested but not at that price.

i can see both arguements but personally side with Martin in that this will be an exclusive piece and worth the extra cost, imagine if this appeared on e bay as a one off piece i reckon it would go for more

Yeah but it's not a one of and Simon will make as many as he can sell. I have all the item's that Simon has made so far but i feel that this is just to expensive. No a think a price of say £40 the pair is much much more reallistic. Also calling something "a piece" dosent make it more desirable.

Although as of yet i haven't taken the plunge, all of the parts that simon has produced seem to me to be more than reasonably priced, all of a sudden he's offering to produce these new pieces at what seems to be a very expensive price, i cannnot believe simon has seen the chance to rip us all off and gone for it, if you read all the posts in this thread it just doesn't sound like him, and if he says that these things use more resin etc we have to take what he says at face value, there's too many satified customers to think otherwise.
just my humble opinion.

It was a descriptive term. What value as a 'good' it represents is a purely personal judgement based on what you see and your evaluation of it in your overall position.

Also your statement, axiomatically is only opinion, not definition.
