Default Bypassing Hi-Line kit in the boot

Hi all,

I've had issued with water ingress into the boot - which are 95% fixed - but I don't want to refit the satnav unit behind the side carpet on the right hand side of the boot until I'm 100% confident that everything is staying dry.

I also would like some music in the car for the interim period!

Are there any replacement stereos that will work without having all the kit in the boot plugged in?

I'm wondering if an android touch screen unit would work - I don't need the aerial connected, I'll simply use spotify for music while on the move. Can I remove the highline head unit, and swap an android unit straight in? Will it work without the gubbins in the boot being plugged in?

I really don't want to have to mess with wiring looms etc...

Any advice would be great!
