Ebay service reset tool?

I'm a DIY service kinda guy, are these worth it?

in a word yes i have one and they work well .you can of course make one with a push button and x2 bits of wire .but you still have to poke the wires in the right paces in the obd socket.and at this price why bother

I purchased one from this seller, but the instructions are not correct & ambiguous

But found the following guide from another seller & is a lot simpler

& worked first time.

Technical data:
With this adapter you can reset the following indicators in your car: oil service, inspection, annual maintenance.
The device is able for Plug & Play. Connect the device to the OBD2 port in your car (usually at the left side below the car dashboard).
Then all LEDs blink shortly and then they glow constantly. Turn the ignition key - without starting the engine.
Press the button on the adapter to reset the desired function.
The all LEDs glow to confirm the reset.
With some cars it's necessary to reset the oil service before resetting the annual inspection.

Those instructions are pretty much the same as the procedure I use..

These reset tools are cheap now,they all used to around the £20.00 area,a very handy little device though.

You can get a more sophisticated code reader/reset tool for not much more than that, the type with an LCD display like a 1990s cellphone.

Either type are handy to have, just in case you need one - and for the price of a couple of drinks, or a round at most

Halfords do one, at a truly terrifying price !

A question for those who understand about these diagnostic tools. Would any of these help me to narrow down the faults TGB has? :-

The problem I see is that they say after 2001 and of course TGB is a 2000 model.

The problem I see is that they say after 2001 and of course TGB is a 2000 model.

I have the Memoscan 580 - got it two or three years ago. Will read standard codes but not the MGR ones. Does read Ford codes though... Has been very useful for just a few pounds.
