Default Engine flush with diesel fuel

With a bit of luck I'll find time to do the first oil and filter change on the CDT Tourer this weekend.

Replacing 1/2 the old oil with diesel fuel and running the engine for few minutes to dislodge sludge has been mentioned on here a few times.

I'm tempted to try the same. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has used this method and what the results were.

Cheers

Default engine flush

remember doing this many years ago but dont know if it would damage the turbo with its low viscosity.

My advice is don't under any circumstances add diesel fuel oil to the lube oil

Not only is it completely unnecessary, you run the risk of either a crankcase explosion or a "runaway".

So why run the risk

The results of just changing the oil every 15k miles as per the manufacturer's service schedule are the engines run fine long term, so can't see how you can detect any benefit from flushing with diesel.

I wouldn't personally, your making the Oil Viscosity thinner, also your elemaneting protection at your major components as oil acts as a coolant as well as a lubricant, doing that could cause more harm then good.

Do Not use diesel fuel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regular changes of engine oil will keep your engine CLEAN inside.

Lots of folk, including myself, change the oil at 10,000 miles or less.

Whoever told you to put diesel in the engine oil needs a kick up the bottom.---

^^^^^^^^ Wot they said!!!!! No dont do it, i dont like engine flushes to be honest, all you need is to dislodge i bit of carbon drop it on a main or end bearing and ruin the engine. Jus do a couple of quick oil changes with reasonable oil. Deisel engine oil containes a detergent enyway.

It's a NO then is it?

Only joking. Flush with diesel fuel duly crossed off the "to do" list.

Hopefully, still on for an oil and filter change at the weekend. Might even whip the front suspension arm rear bushes (2,000 use) off the old Tourer and fit to the new one.
