Engine little power on low revs
Today my Rover75 CDTi cut out on me today, the engine was 'chugging' and hand little power as i was reversing the engine then cut out.
I restarted, but once i put the gear box in Drive it cut out again. When on the motorway it drove fine very smooth. But when i came off the motorway and stopped at lights, the idle was terrible. Full tank of fuel, new under bonnet pump fitted a year ago, this is an intermittent problem. One thing we did do was unplug the injectors one at a time, and number 4 made no change to the engine at all. HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM TO BE WORSE WHEN ENGINE REACHES NORMAL TEMPERATURE, WHEN COLD IT TICKS OVER NICELY. Last edited by buchanan; 20th November 2017 at 23:42.. |

My suggestion would be to have a word with Jonny and Rab at Ards Mini Centre, and get it diagnosed properly, before it lets you down completely. Injector load drop can be caused by anything from a defective loom to a duff injector, however more commonly a wet ECM causes this Brian |

fitted a new UBP it was only a year old, but was running very noisy, could even hear it, through all the sound proofing.
Got in contact with the company i bought it off and they sent me a new one free of charge, seems to have cured the problem. |
