Default Bonnet (I have a feeling you know what im about to say next...)

Hi all, New here!

You guessed it, bonnet wont open on my 75 2000 'W' 2.0 that i recently bought, seller told me that the bonnet cable black box on the LHS, the cable clip box within itshould be pushed down when opened to make the lever on the inside of the car push back in. I did that but the bonnet wouldnt open again and nothing i can do will make it open

Is there any way to open it?

I appreciate you may not want to give this info out on a public forum so i can PM anyone who is able to help.

I dont want to drive it on the road before i make sure the fluid levels are good etc. etc. so i would appreciate any help on this.

Many thanks, Ant

Bonnet open! Thanks everyone! I can now check everything over again, top up anything necessary (hopefully not) but it looks immaculate under the bonnet.

Theres a few issues on the old girl, electric mirrors dont work and it has a slight veer to the left. Also the rear passenger side door only opens from the inside.

Are any of these known faults? Nothing 'too' majorat at least, im thinking tracking as a cause of the veer, no?

Cheers, Ant.

P.s. You are very local to me bl52krz, i'll have to look out for your 75

Tracking will most likely cure the veering to the left, but first check that all the tyre pressures are correct.

Hi there and welcome to the club.

The mirrors not responding to the remote pad is quite common. Try opening the switch and cleaning the contacts underneath the pad.

Worth a try, otherwise you may be able to source a replacement switch from SMC or Messenger on here.

Worth a try first though as often it is just dirty contacts.

Good advice, however remember the 75 is a 4 wheel alignment car. You would be wasting your money if you only have the alignment done on 2 wheels.
