I had the same problem with the Primo version. In the end I resorted back to IGO8 and it hasn't frozen once.

I think there maybe a corrupt file somewhere and possible a replacement version over writing the old version may help.

Just a thought?

Edd

interesting - We were in the carpark at the crowne Plaza hotel at Manchester Airport when it crashed twice - we were trying to get to Newton Le willows the first time and Home the second but both times we set it going in the car park - I wonder if its a gremalin in the maps around manchester airport ?

Edd what version of Igo do you have (you`ll have to look at the file on the PC IRRC to find it out )

I have the one off Tony Fry on the micro card he was selling at the time. I also still have the version that came with the unit.

Taken me a long time to get used to it. I need to sit in the car with the paper manual (88 pages I printed out) and work through it page by page but the weather has been too cold.

I had to use it today to find an obscure street in my neighborhood. The street wasn't in the IGO8 would you believe. So I resorted to the old method... I got a map out.

I just created a route on Primo when I was off road and I had no problems.

While I do have the alternative unit, I still think your app or maps must be corrupt.

Surely a mapping error would not cause the unit to freeze?

I'd say any kind of software error could cause WinCE to freeze and affect the whole unit.

I would say that CDTi is right here...

As the Igo software runs in CE, any serious application error will casue the OS to freeze.

In my case, the rest of the unit was fine...just Igo that died and the only way of sorting it was to kill the power completly.

I now have it set so I have to touch the screen to make it start rather than it starting up on it's own..that way I can always change the directory it starts from and can swap to Primo or something !..
