I realize that for some there are needs which must be attended to, and I am so tight fisted I am well practised in the use of my lower limbs. Good luck to all who are suffering from price increases and expenditure. |

Greed.
There's a lot of people getting a lot of money out of the misery high prices are causing, many fuel stations are raising the prices on fuel they already have in their tanks, fuel bought and paid for. if the price drops on wholesale supplies as it did yesterday, will we see the same drop at the pumps? I think we know the answer to that.
The way I see it is as I predicted, people want the money they lost out on over the pandemic and so, no-one will escape from the greed anywhere in the world. |

The oil price today is £96 a barrel as petrol approaches £2 per litre!
In June 2008, however, it hit £109 a barrel yet petrol was £1.19 per litre? WAKE UP!!!! Out of my £100 spent at the pump this morning to fill my 60-litre tank car: £16.67 was VAT £32.74 was FUEL DUTY £35.84 production & wholesale costs £9.71 erm..biofuel content allowance? £3.92 went to Tesco, the retailer £1.12 was delivery costs Nearly £50 (50%) in tax alone! My first car in early seventy's was an Austin 35 van in customary blue. Cost £2 to fill tank and would run all week till pay day. It also burnt oil faster and cost £3 a week for oil lol.

I take onboard that taxes need to be raised to support our way of life and standing in the world but why always take the easy route by hammering the motorist? Particularly in these times of financial strain
