Monogram dashboards
I've been looking at a few images of colour coded dashboards on ZT - Rick-Sta's red five for example and I am thinking that I would like to replace the 'technical grey' on mine so...
What was the correct colour red for this, was there any difference between Mk1 & 2s and for a Firefrost car? Which pieces were coloured, it seems it was dash, radio eye brow and gear lever surround. Has anyone successfully done this with aerosol cans or should I pop down to a bodyshop (although I suspect it it would probably cost more to do than for the cost of the paint) I'm presuming that the smooth, metal backed dashboard would be the better canvas rather than colour coded sandpaper? |

Monogram dashboards
Only three genuine monogram colours were made, royal blue, copperleaf and British racing green.
You can get a good result withspray cans, as always good prep is key to the finished result. Use a real wood dash too, less prone to cracking around the vents than the later versions.

I'd love the blue but they never seem to come up anywhere.

Had mine done in Sunspot Yellow to match the rest of the car. A painted, wooden, Rover 75 steering wheel sets it off just right.

Bah, I gave a wood one away lol. Does it need to be real wood, or any dash would do?

Any dash will do Dawn, its just the real wood ones tend not to crack around the vents.
