Not offended, (despite my bulk). True that offence is usually taken, not given. However like all things there are exceptions. And being deliberately insulting is one of them.

Are you Piers in disguise?

Ahhh, the 'freedom of speech' argument. Yes sure be free to speak (well as long as it's not part of the list of illegal speech, e.g. sedition (but only if you're an 'alien' since 1977), then there are the very woolly hate speech laws of course....

Anyway, freedom of speech is fine. But that's not an argument for a media platform allowing it on their channel.

Goodbye to bad rubbish is my opinion. An odious man whose opinions are selected for effect on anyone daft enough to bother listening. Not because he truly believes any of it (or gives a monkey's cuss) as long as it keeps him on the gravy train.

We need people like Morgan, Clarkson, Paxman and others like them who, although we might not like them, are not afraid to say what others are too scared to say.

If people think that something is wrong or misleading they should have a right to say so, without being silenced by those with an agenda.

Silenced?

If only - he's fully capable of making is 'opinions' known (depending on which way the wind is blowing on any particular day). It's not beholden to tv companies or the press to put it on their platforms - yet they still do.

Edit: Morgan, Clarkson, Paxman - very different people. Two are at least consistent in their 'opinions' , But I wouldn't liken any of the three to either of the other two.

Just read this following snippet online:

Quote:
He [piers morgan] also posted a picture of Winston Churchill and one of his quotes, which states:
Some people's idea of free speech is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage." He had stormed off the show on Tuesday after weather presenter Alex Beresford called his comments 'diabolical'.

So he proves the quote holds true in this case.

I thought the actual problem lay not necessarily with the expressing of opinion in socio/political matters but rather the disproportionate noise (bleating and ranting) among half-witted sycophants on various social media platforms. The type that tap in four words that need a page to decipher.

Those with no real life experience and, er, well, no life. They have a grossly over-representative audience that they wouldn't have even in they went to a football match. Their supportive also-rans have an isolated existence in their bedrooms and seek attention, no matter from where. Then the snowball rolls downhill. The thing about social media is it ain't social, it's anti-social.

What happened to free speech? Ironically, Morgan was doing what he was paid for, whereas Beresford, as a weatherman, was not!

So it's OK for Morgan to spout his poison but not for Alex to respond to it?
