Default Sony head unit

Just a quick question...
I have a Sony head unit that can control a CD changer.
I've never bothered with a changer, but the drive in the head unit has stopped working, so I'm now considering getting one.
Does anyone know if I have to get a Sony changer or if another make will work?
Many thanks

Pretty much the Sony one although from memory some Jvc changers used to use the same connector and control protocols.
Unless its a high end head unit you will find a changer costing as much as a new head unit.
Might be a few knocking around second hand though

Ideal. Many thanks.
I was thinking more along the lines of second hand anyway.
Just a crying shame the original highline head unit & sat nav got ripped out by a previous owner.
At least they left the HK speakers
