Rear window seal
Folks, am I right in thinking that the seal for the rear window is NLA?
If so, what are folks doing? On my ZT a previous owner has tried to use some sort of rubber gunk which is now coming off I'll post a photo on Saturday (when next have access to the car) Thanks Andrew

If it is causing wet boot,i lifted up lower edge along bottom of seal, gave the window clips a good washing out with wd40,then used captain tolleys creeping crack cure. This cured my wet boot.

I did the same bought all new clips, but had to trim the bottom section to get it under the glass then used silicone and a small nut and bolt to seal it in place, no boot leaks for now

I think the OP was talking about the wearing off of the black coating on ZT seals (he appears to have two ZT's) and there was a thread about this recently with various suggestions of products (e.g. Plasti-Dip?) that can be used to re-coat them. The re-sealing being suggested above is obviously a good idea at the same time.

Ummm... were you able to replace the clips without removing the glass...?

Nope! I had to remove about 1mm from the upper edge to allow them to slot under the glass.

Right... I've been firefighting (waterfighting?) this problem for years... Captain Tolley's stopped the leak for years, but it came back, and now CT is ineffective, so I really need to replace the clips I reckon. I'd always believed there was no way at all of getting new ones in (presumably you don't mind breaking the old ones to get them out), but... you just filed then down a bit? Did you do any sealing, or just clean everything up and pop them in their holes? Ta

Sealed the base of the clip with rubber roofing sealant, made sure it was well squashed in before putting another blob of sealant on the little plastic pin before pushing the pin into the clip. You can remove a fair bit of plastic from the top of the clip as the screen surround and the rubber boot strip clip into fixings at the bottom edge.
