Question Service mode - RDS on/off ?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to switch the rDS on or off whilst in service mode on the Symphony ? Mine came with this disabled , or its broken !

Hi Chris,

Yes RDS is switchable via the Symphony Service Mode.

Default Problems with Service mode on Symphony (Lo-Line)

Right chaps (and chapesses) I want to access Service mode on my (lo-line) Symphony HU. Despite it being a lo-line system I do not have the lo-line installed (it's only the headunit that I've got).

When I press and hold "MAN" for 8 seconds, I get into service mode - which is great. But what can I do from there? I mean, I want to alter things but no matter what I press or twiddle NOTHING HAPPENS. Pressing the left/right search buttons changes the information displayed between the seriel number and two other pieces of information (one of which appears to the the radio station I'm listening too) and the other one says "GAL1". Pressing the CD/Preset buttons changes this to "GAL1" through to "GAL4" depending on which button is pressed. I'm guessing GAL5 and GAL6 would be displayed if I had presets on 5 and 6, which I don't.

Sorry for the long-winded explanation but I really am stuck.

Any ideas?

Yup - noticed yourpost too! Also posted on your thread. These threads will probably be merged of GG's on the ball tonight, either way hopefully we'll both get the answer we're looking for!

OK. The workshop manual isn't clear on this!! One section says you can switch RDS on and off but the section of detailed instructions don't say how to do so doh!

I'll dig around and get back tomorrow. There must be a way.
