You are dragging down the tone and reputation of this club.

The level of pettiness being demonstrated by a small group towards a former member and his car is quite unbelievable.
Totally agree - damn well said.

So someone comes along with more money than sense and buys the car. Yes its a nice car and well maintained. They buy it and on the way home someone hits it up the rear at the traffic lights.
You ring your insurance and the assessor comes out and says its a lovely car and we are giving you a very generous £2200. "Err I paid nearly £6k for this car!" "Sorry but the book figure is X amount and we cant deviate a great deal from the guide prices".
How would you feel then?

Stupid for not taking out an agreed value policy

The car is NOT your average workhorse. It puts mine to shame.

I've never had an AVP, are these easy to agree? Because I thought that the insurer would have to agree to the price and some would turn around and say no.

AVP will still be set by insurer...not any figure plucked out of the air.

It's a lovely looking car.

It'll sell for whatever someone is prepared to pay for it.

Best of luck to the seller for whatever he gets for it and I hope that it reaches somewhere near his ambitions.

Why anybody else is getting worked up about it is beyond me.
