![]() Now that I have joined and I can officially post photographs I thought I'd delight you with some photos of our recently-acquired 53-plate ZT190+
We bought it from an auctioneers near Manchester at the beginning of July. It was looking a a bit sorry for itself to be honest. A couple of photos from the seller's website: ![]() ![]() Doesn't look too bad but when I got it home and examined the bonnet under strong artificial light, to say it was 'a bit swirled' was an understatement: ![]() The boot lid was the same, yet the roof was nowhere near as bad. After washing and claying the bonnet, roof and boot lid, I set to work with my rotary polisher and after about three hours in total I got this: ![]() The next free day I washed, clayed, polished and waxed all the driver's side. Dirt was so ingrained I killed-off half a new clay bar on just that side alone. The following day I did the same with the other side and killed off the rest of the clay bar. I also fitted a new front badge which transformed the appearance of the front end. I was really pleased with the results after my efforts, which upto this point totalled about 8 hours: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Couple of reflections from my driveway: ![]() ![]() ![]() Today I spent about two hours cleaning-up the engine bay, which wasn't ridiculously bad, just dirty. Before: ![]() After: ![]() ![]() ![]() Engine bay is not perfect by any means but it's ok if you don't look too closely and you squint a bit ![]() I still need to do the wheels, the interior and the glass, plus at some point I need to do something about this impact damage because I find it annoying on a car which otherwise is starting to look pretty tidy: ![]() Thanks for reading! ![]() Hi Jeff, plenty of Autoglym Engine & Machine Cleaner, various brushes of different sizes and widths including the obligatory old tooth brush, and half a ton of microfibres which are now all just fit for the bin! I then treated the rubbers to Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care (wiped on, not sprayed on) and gave the painted surfaces a spraying of Meguiar's Wash & Wax Anywhere which is a combined cleaner and wax (apparently).
