Painted with chassis paint the new rear sub-frame and two pairs of new rear upper suspension arms, having had them first grit-blasted and primed. Now to preserve the inside surfaces, perhaps pour paint in and keep rotating the part, then finally a Waxoil or similar for anything the paint has missed.

Cheers Steve. I had read your suggestion before on here, although I have not done it. It just shows that you need to keep on top of the plenum cleaning. The two rubber pipes shown in your photo, is where the water was running down onto the brace underneath, and then dripping down onto the floor. The problem I had was the leaves were across the top of the drain blocking it. As soon as i moved them, the water drained out, but I still rodded it , but nothing came out.I must cut the hole in the plenum water cover so I can clear the drain without taking the cover and all the gubbins out.It just shows as you have always pointed out on here, how important it is to keep the plenum drains rodded out.

I do 34 mile with 6L of gasoline driving only in urban..so "city drive". This means the consumption for city drive is 12L per 100km. I have 1.8L Rover 75. Just posting a question if this is usual for urban consumption

You've lost most of us mate - we understand miles per gallon, but litres per 100 km, you might as well be talking Klingon!

We speak Klingon here in Canada. My ZT190 (KV6) was getting about 12.5 L/100km as does my wife's 3.2L 2020 Subaru Outback, my KV6 Freelander got around 13.5 L/100km. Not a direct comparison to the K4 but 12 L/100km seems a bit much for a 4cyl unless the OP is quite an agressive driver.
