I borrowed one of these and it did manage to undo the drive shaft nut which I think has a torque of 350nm but I thought it struggled but I had no experience to go by.
Good thing is that it is 1/2 inch drive

I use it for all sorts! As having 2 metros and 3 75s that’s a lot of things to undo…. Drive shaft nuts on the 75s it does with pretty much ease. Metro ball joints with ease too and they are not nice!

Apart from the drive shaft nuts I don't think I can be bothered to use it, certainly not for wheel nuts, too much effort to get it from its box, sort out a socket and extension lead, this is where battery wins.

I would only buy Milwaukee, yes they are expensive but worth every penny. When I bought mine several years ago a friend who is a professional mechanic said ''I prefer my air''. I suggested he tried it and I leant it to him for a day. When I collected it he was so impressed he asked me where to get one from?

Apparently he had done a wheel bearing on a Citroen van, they can be a complete 4r5e to do but the Milwaukee walked it and he did it in half the time he would normally take.

I use it for everything, wheel nuts, suspension parts and even engine fastenings if it will fit.

The new Milwaukee M-18 tools are great.
I am gradually buying tools to go with their battery system.
I currently have a Sawzall (jab saw) leaf blower, string trimmer, and a shop vac.
In their M-12 tools I have a drill, nut driver and one of my favorite tools of all times, a 3/8 drive battery ratchet. My arthritic hands love that tool!
As soon as I can justify it to Mrs. RIV I intend to buy one of their M-18 impact wrenches.
In the meantime I am using a cheap plug-in impact gun
I got for free when I bought a set of impact sockets.
I generally only use the impact for loosening fasteners and go for less impacty tools to install them.

I've a corded draper one. Its pretty good but bulky. I think the battery ones are the way to go if you can bare the extra cost. They look like they will get into more areas that the corded ones.

In reality there is not much to choose between the top Dewalt, Milwauke, Makita and Ingersol machines from a cost, specification and capability perspective.

My choice and reason would be as follows:

1. Dewalt - sexiest looking machines with a great coulour scheme

2. Makita - nearly as good looking as Dewalt

3. Milwauke - not as good a colour scheme as above two - slightly dull red

4. Really dull grey - a bit like 1970's tools

I won't buy Dewalt again after I had dealt with there customer service. Not interested but Milwaukee sorted a problem out and even rung me a week or so to check everything had been dealt with.
