Default Upper Suspension Arm

Hi Folks,
Can any body advise me on fitting upper suspension arms (the one the spring sits into), I have looked for a "how to" and couldn`t see anything. Do I need any special tools and how long do they take to fit by a lazy person (me)!
Thanks in Advance
Neil

Set aside a day or two. The bolts that are in the "centre" of the car going into the sub frame can be a cow to remove as can the bolts at the hub end due to rust. In fact I do a check that thee can be undone before starting the job

I think, 15mm socket or spanner, sort extension bar, deepish 18mm socket. some 2x2 and a few feet long, some string, some spanners 15 and 18 plus I think 13 and I used a scissor jack, ramps, torque wrench, hammer, copper slip.
Check your rear spings are ok, I found one of mine had snapped.

if all comes undone, not a bad job. I had one snapped spring and one seized bolt in a bush at the hub end,.

Thanks for that Ian, I have all the "tools" for the job (what size hammer?),that bolt in the centre of the subframe is it the one with the captive nut? the springs were changed not so long ago so should be okay (fingers crossed)!

yes they are the ones with captive nuts. If springs changed recently the bolts by the hub should be fine. Spraying with frequently spraying penetrating oil for a day or two if the bolts don't come undone easily. 1-2lb hammer if its needed.

Good luck

I did a rear suspension overhaul last year including the upper and lower arms. In case I had to do it again, I did this write up as a reminder to myself. Hope it helps. As mentioned already, If you can, soak everything in plus gas some days before you start.

Good luck
