2.5l Driveshaft Joint - Page 2

The first three pics show the nasty surprise on dissembling the driveshaft that one of the ball/rollers complete with needle rollers is completely missing from the bearing. (No, its not on the garage floor! But maybe at the garage where the earlier MOT repairs were carried out ("... removed and stripped offside front assembly...").
All this surely the cause of the drivetrain vibration that had suddenly become an issue when driving at over 60mph.

The other three pics show comparison of the removed driveshaft92.5l KV6 manual) and one fo ra 1.8 Auto. Close in some respects but not an exact match.

The search for a replacement continues, if anyone can help please let me know.

Hello peeps it’s been a while. Hope all well? The concensus appears to be that the casting number dictates the driveshaft type. Ian’s (KV6 manual box)has #16 cast into it on the bearing housing two mounting holes. If this numbering corresponds correctly that would equate to bearing casting with #8 as a 1.8 manual NASP and #9 as a 1.8 Auto NASP. Three mounting holes for 1.8
