Default Seal between brake hose and caliper

I'm looking to change a caliper as it's been sticking, and think I might as weill do the hose as well in case it's actually the hose collapsing inside, depending how scary the join between hose and metal pipe looks.

Either way I have to fit a hose to the new caliper, but I'm used to seeing copper washers used where a hose goes directly into a caliper. There doesn't appear to be any sort of seal. Does it just seal on the taper at the end?

Thanks
Van

Yes no separate seal, they just screw straight in.

Hi Van.
Yes hose just screws into the calliper, i used a little ceramic brake grease on the thread, helps if it ever has to be removed again.

Thanks for the photos Arctic.
Everything always looks so clean in your photos!
It's the right hand rear one.

I started hearing a squeak when pulling away during low speed manoevre on the drive at the end of my 8-mile commute. I hoped it would go away, but it got worse, and I started hearing it at other times towards the end of the journey. I found the disc was getting a bit hot compared to the others, OK to touch but couldn't keep my hand on it. Then suddenly it got a lot worse and was noticeably holding the car back towards the end of the journey, and very hot! Odd as it always seemed fine at the start of the journey. I took the caliper off (left the hose connected) exercised the piston in and out a few times, greased where I could, and put it back on. Went for a 7-mile test drive, stopping every couple of miles and measuring temperature. The rear discs were always the same temp until I got home and then it squeaked again and I checked the temp and it was 5 degrees difference. So I decided I'd change the caliper, and the hose as well if I can pluck up courage to attempt to disconnect it from the pipe!
