Yep, it seems quite helpful, thank you! Right now I'm just wondering where to get the spare display itself...

But don't even think about fitting it without advanced soldering skills. When I needed a new switch fitted to a keyfob I know my limitations (and my aged eyes), so I went to the local iPhone repair shop, good price & service. I also talked to him about IPK screens, how wide? he asked, laughed and showed me the size of repairs he was doing to iPhones. No problem he said.

Gives you some ideas perhaps

An innovative idea, going to a mobile phone repair outfit.
I presume "how wide" is the PCB track, and how close to the adjacent ones.

I used to change chips (Integrated Circuits) on early PCB's, when the method was to cut each leg (14 odd); clear each hole with a solder sucker & pliers; then fit the replacement chip.

Couldn't do it today, hands not steady enough.

Regards

Mike
