Default Front passenger door stuck

My Rover 75 front passenger door is stuck shut. (left side steering wheel)
I bought a new lock mechanism from junkyard but I don't know how to take the old one out. I can reach the mechanism with my hand from the inside, but I don't know how to release it if the 3 bolts holding the unit it's on the edge of the door, because the door can't be opened.

Here are some videos of the problem, I tried everything.

If you can lower the window you may be able to reach the release with a wire coat hanger

Default Passenger door stuck

Hi,

Did you find a solution? My door is stuck too and has been for almost a year. Car is SORNed as a result. Can anyone help? The door handle is moving the metal rod so I don't know what a coat hanger would do. Is the problem that the movement is insufficient to release the catch?

It is possible to pull the top of the door card back and get your hand to the lock actuator to open it, you need to push down on the thin bar protruding from the lock mechanism towards the front of the car, once door is open fully remove the door card and see what's wrong. Unusual for both inner and outer handles to fail simultaneously . I've only seen that happen once, the plastic dog leg on the inside of the outer handle had snapped, allowing the bar to drop and snag in the actuator.

Glad your sorted and back in now. Depending how much damage the door card suffered, they are repairable even when snapped. As long as the fabric and plastics are in tact, the card can be fixed with wood glue and a decent tape, you can also glue ice lolly sticks as a bridge across the break for extra support, once back on the clips and door will support it anyway.

Great thanks. I've bought a new lock and will patch up the door card.
