LOL We used to do the same thing, Run outside to let dad know the brush was out the top of the chimney, It was my job lighting the fire in the mornings as I was first up to do my paper round.

Cool

That’s one thing I miss, a fireplace.

Used to love when the chimney sweep came to the flat, loved the smell of the soot. Hated the clearing up.

When my grand dad was alive he once told me that I could clean my teeth with soot and spit. I tried it, and my mum went ballistic. Never try when wearing a white shirt.

The chimney has been swept, the carpet has been cleaned, the grass has been cut.

Just having a Henry or two.

Oh heck Andy! I thought our living room carpet was dirty after treading all the mucky water through from the kitchen flood t'other week, I've got the carpet shampooer ready but I'm not bothering to do it until the kitchen is sorted, Lino fitters are booked up solid for two weeks yet, My brother is taking the missus to the Stax warehouse in Walkden on Sunday where we bought the kitchen from originally to get some cupboards/kickboards that were water damaged. (apparently i'm colour blind & cant be trusted to buy the correct colour so I'm banned from going).
