Thankfully the carpet has come up ok Ian, google said bicarb of soda rubbed into the soot would lift it!

It didn't appear to do much until I shampooed it with the carpet cleaner and everything came out.

I have to thank the chimney sweep, who not only offered to pay for the carpet cleaning, but wouldn't take payment for his services (Until forced) As he was mortified that the carpet had got dirty.

Not many tradesmen these days that care about the job they do, its nice to meet one that does.

Bicarbonate of soda is amazing stuff. So much it can remove without damaging the carpet or upholstery. Make sure you rise the carpet with
clean warm water Andy and then extract it,as leaving the carpet unrinsed will mean the shampoo residue acts like a magnet for new dirt.

Morning Ian, morning all.

It's grey but dry here, rain and wind for later so says the forecast though..

Went to the cat rescue yesterday so today I shall be staying firmly indoors in the warm.

Got the Grand Prix to be watching over the weekend so that should keep me occupied

Took this yesterday of the lovely white cat that has come in to the rescues care...

Her owner died and she was left abandoned in the garden for some time.
She had lost a lot of weight and was full of fleas, dirty and very nervous of people.

She is now responding very well, putting on weight, her coat is now gleaming and she is super friendly.

She has sadly got the tell tail signs of skin cancer on her ear tips so will be having them surgically removed to stop any further spread.

Other than that, she is 'purrfect' in every way and will make a lovely companion for someone

Cool

Morning everyone

Torrential rain and gale force winds, and it’s been like that all night as well.
